As the cycling world gears itself up for the 2021 Tour de France at Hotchillee we’re already thinking ahead to 2022 and the next edition of our LONDON-PARIS by Tour de France. For the first time, you have a choice of two journeys, two ways to ride to Paris and the iconic cobbles of the Champs-Élysées. How do you choose?
If your idea of London to Paris perfection is getting as near to a pro peloton experience as possible, then our 3-day road ride is the choice for you. Hotchillee have been putting on this event for 17 years and, with ability seeded groups, full vehicle and mechanical support, motorbike outriders, rolling road closures and jerseys to compete for in the racing groups, you can definitely live out your World Tour rider fantasies to the full.
Alternatively, if you prefer the (off)road less travelled, see yourself as a bit of a pioneer, want a genuine adventure and really want to immerse yourself (it could be muddy!) in the French countryside, then join our inaugural gravel London to Paris. If you sign-up up for our knobbly tyre London to Paris, you have the same three days to cover the kilometres but it’ll undoubtedly be a very different, but still a very special experience.
Both rides will roll out of Hampton Court together but then road and trail divide with the road riders heading for Folkestone and the gravel crew bound for Newhaven for their respective channel crossings. Once in France, the road riders can look forward to fizzing along pristine tarmac and past iconic fields of sunflowers, the gravel riders will probably be riding through those fields!
On Day 3 road and gravel converge for the final ceremonial roll-in to Paris. You can share stories of your own London to Paris journey with on and off-road riders alike, united as you experience riding into Paris on closed roads together as one Hotchillee peloton of 500 riders. All riders get the option to upgrade their entry with Tour de France packages or can choose to stay on and watch the men’s and women’s race from the side of the road.

There’s a real thrill to riding in a big well-drilled group on the road. The Hotchillee Ride Captains will lead the way, punch a hole in the wind for you and even, if necessary, give you a helping hand up the hills.
Especially once in France with motorbike outriders clearing the road ahead, support vehicles following your group and just having to raise a hand for assistance, you’ll definitely get that pro rider thrill.
Hotchillee have been putting on this event for 17 years and our Ride Captains and event crew are incredibly experienced so all you have to worry about is turning your pedals for 520km.
Although the total and daily distances might seem intimidating, once you’re rolling in a bunch, on silky smooth France tarmac and chatting to the riders around you, we guarantee the kilometres will fly by.
If just getting to Paris isn’t enough of a challenge for you, you have got a chance to flex your competitive muscles. With timed Sprint, KOM and GC sections there will be both team and individual competitions.
This will be Hotchillee’s first off-road London to Paris so you’ll be a true pioneer. However, having run off-road events as far afield as South Africa and the Atlas Mountains, we’re definitely not newbies to the gravel game.
From leaving the tarmac at Hampton Court, you’ll be amazed how quickly you’ll be away from traffic on tranquil trails.
You truly will be in the French countryside as you wind your way from village to village and see areas only accessible by gravel bikes.
There are only 70 entries for this unique adventure so there will be a real sense of camaraderie, shared adventure and you’ll get to know your gravel buddies really well.
