We take sustainability seriously and are actively developing ways to minimise not only our own carbon footprint but also that of our members and the wider cycling community.

We recognise that although personal behavioural change and increased cycle use can have a huge impact on an individual’s carbon footprint, cycling events and the sport of cycle, with the vehicle support and travel, are far more challenging in terms of sustainability.

Examples of measures we’ve already taken to tackle this include off-setting the carbon of our events with tree planting, the use of electric support vehicles, limiting our use of plastics, significantly reducing pre-event travel and the creation of more UK based events.

We are also developing a platform that pulls together several gamification aspects to convert people and organisations into being active travellers, to accelerate and intensify their participation in active mobility and help to drive towards net zero.

We see this as just being the start and pledge to not just hit net zero ourselves by 2030 but to facilitate our partners achieving this too.
